Breakout
A modern take on the classic brick-breaker: clear every breakable brick while keeping the blue hero ball in play. Red bonus balls are free, so drop as many as you like.
This was hand-written in Python (pygame) and converted into a webapp using AI. All graphics were AI generated (I can't draw!).
What's in it
- Eleven levels at three difficulties. The later levels bring rows of metal bricks that sway from side to side.
- Thirteen kinds of brick, met a few at a time. Each level's banner introduces the new ones. Between them they give you bonus balls, extra bats, lasers, blackouts, reversed controls, chain explosions, safety nets, a sticky bat, a blurring red lens, and a regenerator that brings broken bricks back.
- Spin: swipe the bat under a ball as it bounces and it curves away.
- Mouse, touch, or tilt: on a phone you can steer the bat by tilting the phone like a steering wheel.
- Chiptune music for each stage, and stereo sound effects.
- An end-of-game certificate with your time and difficulty. You can add a selfie (it never leaves your device) and save it as a picture.
- Installs to a phone's home screen and runs fullscreen, like an app.
